The ‘Isola Rossa’ is a well-known Argentario landmark, being a very pretty small rock island that turns a wonderful pink colour at sunset. It sits approximately 1 km offshore from the bay of Le Cannelle on Argentario’s wild and beautiful west coast. Given that the ‘Cannelle’ was the area where Carolina Tabor, an Italian living in London and Argentario devotee, spent most of her childhood summers, 'Isola Rossa' was an obvious choice of name for Carolina's company, which she started in 2003. Her collection of luxury villas, apartments and cottages by the coast of Argentario are all owned by people she knows and the intention is to keep the portfolio small so as to offer a dedicated personal service. Since then, a small number of inland and city holiday homes in Tuscany, Umbria and Rome have been added to the portfolio and so ‘Isola Rossa, Tuscany by the Sea’, was no longer appropriate in describing the full range of villas on offer. As a result, in September 2003, Dimore Italiane Ltd was formed and took ownership of the trading name ‘Isola Rossa’. Yet, the ethos of Isola Rossa remains the same today as it was at the outset – to offer the very best accommodation of its type on Monte Argentario. |
