Le Ancore is part of a condominium and is located in the last building towards the old town of Porto Ercole on the port promenade. The apartment is the penthouse and has two entrances, one on Viale Caravaggio where there is parking for two medium cars or a big and a small one, and one that takes you via a lift to the port promenade. Directly in front of the lower entrance facing the port is a pontoon where the gozzo is moored.
The size of the terraces and the fact that there is open space at the front and side and it overlooks the Corsini botanic garden behind makes the apartment very private and secluded and yet you are in the heart of the old harbour promenade. A new championship-standard golf course has been built in Argentario and is 10 minutes from the apartment, while tennis courts are a 15 minute drive away.
The apartment will be free for 3 weeks in August, from around the 6th (although there is some flexibility. The rental includes the owner’s man servant, who will work each day including the public holiday. He does not work in the afternoons or on Sundays. The man servant’s duties include looking after the cleaning of the house, the washing and ironing of linen and towels, and reasonable washing and ironing of the family’s garments. He will prepare breakfast and cook meals in the evening.
The rental also includes the use of the owner’s wooden motor boat (gozzo), which can accommodate comfortably 8 people and a seaman who will pilot the boat and take guests around. Electricity and gas are included too, telephone and boat fuel are excluded.
The apartment has four double bedrooms with bathrooms ensuite plus a fifth guest’s bathroom. The two main bedrooms and the dining room are air conditioned. The apartment is 220sqm and the split-level terrace 300sqm – the terraces overlook the old town of Porto Ercole and the Corsini garden. Outside, there is a barbeque and table tennis and lots of squashy and comfortable seating and day beds.
Despite its exceptionally central location, the apartment is both very private and quiet. The interior is decorated with great flare and style, with family antique furniture and objets d’art.
