The exotic Oriente is the ultimate bolt-hole in which to relax and escape the world in complete seclusion. The character of its interesting and much-travelled owner is evident everywhere in her eclectic collection of books, china artefacts and vibrant colours of its furnishings – with its dash of the Orient, Mexico, Africa and Italian chic to make a wonderfully unusual and welcoming place to stay.
Its owner loves entertaining, ensuring guests will enjoy the very well equipped kitchen/breakfast room and outside barbecue areas. A large open plan sitting/dining room leads to a charming sunken sitting area with fireplace, cosy even on the wettest day. From here steps lead to an open mezzanine/study area (with a sofa bed for a teenager) for writing or reading from where it is easy to be inspired looking down to the panorama of sea and sky.
Outside, there is a charming covered dining area, and extensive terraces with sunbeds for sun, shade or idly chatting. A rough path/steps lead down to a sunbathing area, and a natural sea water pool with fantastic rock formations and totally private places to sunbathe and read. The maid is also an excellent cook (extra charge), and will shop for food: the cost is more than justified by the fact that guests can truly relax and savour every minute of quality holiday time.
At night, sitting watching the sun set over the island of Giglio opposite is very romantic making Oriente ideal for honeymoons, couples or those with older children.
